Welcome to Our Australian Adventure

Sydney to Cairns  |  19 March – 28 April 2027

Hello and welcome! We're Lorna & Steve, a married couple originally from the UK who have called the beautiful Algarve in Portugal home for the past 25 years.

We've always believed that life is an adventure waiting to be lived. We're fortunate to be able to follow our dreams, explore new places and discover a little more of this wonderful world, one journey at a time.

We're certainly no strangers to travel. In 2026, we embarked on an incredible world cruise, visiting amazing destinations and creating memories we'll treasure forever. But our desire to explore hasn't stopped there. There's still so much of the world we want to see!

Our next adventure takes us to Australia, where we'll be swapping the cruise ship for a car and setting off on a scenic road trip from Sydney to Cairns, travelling north along Australia's spectacular East Coast.

From the beautiful beaches and seaside towns of New South Wales to Queensland's tropical coastline, we'll be discovering wonderful scenery, rainforests, national parks and wildlife, with highlights including the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Noosa, the Whitsunday region, the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.

We'll be following our planned route from 19 March to 28 April 2027, taking time to enjoy each destination rather than simply rushing to the next. We're looking forward to the freedom of the open road, the places we'll discover along the way and, no doubt, a few unexpected adventures.

Through this website, we'll share our experiences, photographs and stories as our journey unfolds. We hope you'll enjoy travelling along with us, discovering Australia through our eyes and perhaps finding a little inspiration for adventures of your own.
